Join us at our neighborhood location in beautiful Bandon by the Sea for the most comprehensive cob course available in North America. In the past 15 years, Cob Cottage Company has taught almost 200 major cob courses. This month we will teach a 9 day intensive, including some time at our Cob complex in Coquille and the balance of the time in Bandon. We will not only cover Complete Cob, but we will also experience remodeling an existing stick frame construction with cob and straw slip insulation! Complete Cob covers in depth all aspects of cob and touches on the many techniques in building with cob including arches, details, shelving, furniture and earthen floors. In this expanded version of our most popular program ever, we’ll take the ground out from under your feet and turn it into a versatile medium to sculpt a whole house. You will learn construction of walls, arches for doors and windows, roofing options, rubble foundations, and artistic details and some finish work too. In this workshop you will learn these techniques through the construction of exterior walls and the remodeling of an existing garage structure. And you’ll leave confident enough to build a cob building of your own or to naturally renovate an existing conventional building! Space is limited to 20 people to allow personalized hands on instruction.
