5:00 End building session
We’re building a small cob and balecob cabin with a mother-daughter duo on their rustic homestead in the Sierra Nevada Foothills outside of Lassen National Park. As a Community Build, we’ll be focused on production with learning as opposed to a workshop where we focus primarily on teaching and skill development through building. This format keeps the cost low for participants while getting many helping hands on site for the build.
Interspersed in each building session instructors will teach techniques and guide participants as the structure is built.
If you’ve been interested in learning about natural building, have some experience and want to improve, or maybe don’t have the time and money to dedicate to a full workshop, this might be a good option for you.
Participants can register for as many of the 12 days as they’d like.
Earthbag Stemwall (the rubble trench will be done prior to the build)
Tamped earth floor (first parts of an earthen floor)
Basic electric & plumbing
Windows & Doors
“Deadmen” supports for shelves
Note: We will not be getting to the roof during this Community Build.
