Texas Natural Builders will be hosting a straw bale workshop!! We will be putting up bales on our place in Waller.
This event will last for 7 days and in it we will cover:
* foundations (rubble trench)
* walls (pinning bales, vertical stabilization, splitting bales)
* windows (building bucks and anchoring in the bale wall)
* doors (building bucks and anchoring into the bale wall)
* plastering (earthen/lime mixtures and application methods)
* earthen paints (lime washes with earthen pigments)
* pargeting ( raised reliefs, cob sculpturing, and cosmetic enhancing)
We will be installing the straw bales into a already standing timber structure with the roof in place for shade and protection from the elements.
Camping spots are available and encouraged, as are hot showers and composting toilets, there will be vegetarian meals provided during the workshop.
The tuition for this 7 day workshop is $300 per person or $500 for couples, this covers meals and instruction, children are free but a $75 meal fee will be required per child for the week.
This land is private and only paid participants will be given the exact location.
