We would love to set up a work trade program. We feed you for a couple hours of work a day 6 days a week. We have a solar shower, compost toilet, as well as plenty of places to set up a tent. We are a pretty relaxed couple. We like to have fun while working and always keep a positive attitude. You can find me on couch surfing, facebook, or you can check out my blog. Hope to see you soon!

Cob work party up in a gorgeous canyon above the town of Magdalena in New Mexico. You don’t need to be an experienced cobber, but what you do need is a fun attitude and the ability to rough it a bit and if you have any building/ carpentry skills those will come in handy. We’ll be working hard, but having loads of fun and in exchange for your work, we’ll feed you. You’ll need a tent and camping gear and if you have any basic cobbing tools to share that would be a bonus.

Task: We’ll be putting on the upstairs of a half built cabin, the roof, a rocket stove and doing some plastering.

We are in the early stages of creating a small intentional community focused on sustainable living, rewilding, permaculture and encouraging biodiversity, on 21.5 acres of beautiful land 14 miles north of Cookeville, Tennessee. We plan on learning, practicing, and teaching sustainable life skills; including permaculture, natural building, wildcrafting/foraging, tracking/hunting/tanning, making natural clothing, and more.

WWOOFers / volunteers can expect to be working on the rubble trench foundation, stem wall, and roof this fall and winter. Then the walls will come in the spring. Opportunities for prepping soil for permaculture gardens, planting fruit trees, and various tasks on the land are also available.
We sleep in tents and cook over fire twice a day. If you are here anytime between November 1st and April 1st, you can have your own bedroom in a nearby house.

We ask that WWOOFers stay for at least one week, potentially up to a year if things are working well. You will be asked to work 4-5 hours a day, Monday-Friday. There are a couple swimming holes nearby, and downtown Cookeville has a couple coffee shops and a Saturday morning farmers’ market. We will provide food and are happy to accommodate your diet, but you must provide your own tent and sleeping bag. We can also provide rides to and from town (Cookeville), if desired.

Please get in touch if you are interested or if you have any questions, and we look forward to meeting you!

you can check out our website at feralfeet.org
